CAN WE HAVE A CIVIL WEDDING?

Yes, absolutely. We are licensed for 120 guests in the main stone barn however a further 30 can be seated in the adjoining Oak Room.

CAN WE HAVE A CHURCH WEDDING?

Of course! There are lots of churches local to Cripps Barn, so if you choose to get married in a church, you can still use the barn as your venue for your reception, wedding breakfast and evening party.


DO YOU OFFER Outdoor Ceremonies?

We have a beautiful oak ceremony canopy in the glade next to Cripps, which is also licensed for civil ceremonies. 


WHAT IS YOUR CLOSING TIME?

Many venues will close around midnight, just when everyone is really enjoying the party. At Cripps your hire period runs until 1.00 a.m., so it's only then that your music will stop and the bar will close.


WHAT IS YOUR DINING CAPACITY?

The Oak Room will accommodate up to 150 people on round tables (or 120 people if you choose rectangular tables). Alternatively, up to 84 can sit comfortably to eat in the barn itself.


CAN WE INVITE additional EVENING GUESTS?

There is room for an additional 150 guests in the evening, for drinks and dancing.
 

DO YOU HAVE OUTDOOR HEATERS?

We have outdoor fire pits for guests to keep warm (or toast marshmallows).


ARE THE BARNS WARM?

We know all too well that the English weather is a bit hit and miss! The barn has advanced underfloor heating, roaring fires and candles for both warmth and atmosphere. Weather is not a problem at Cripps Barn.


What Happens if there is a power cut?

At Cripps Barn we have an oil powered generator so if the National Grid goes down we have you covered and the party will go on!


DO YOU HAVE ON-SITE ACCOMMODATION?

While there is no accommodation on site, there is plenty of excellent accommodation very nearby so your guests will have no problem getting to and from the wedding. Please see our Accommodation page for recommendations. 

However, should your guests wish to embrace the rural experience and camp instead of drive home, they can do this in the grounds.


WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT MUSIC?

There are several options for music. You are welcome to plug in your own iPod playlist (we have a lighting and sound system) or you could hire a DJ and DJ equipment, a live band or indeed a combination of all three. 
 

What PA (Public Address) and sound system do you have in place at Cripps Barn?

Please see all information about our excellent on-site PA & Sound System here. You are welcome to share this with your DJ / band as it also has all the information they need about getting to the venue, where to park, etc. 


CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FLOWERS & DECORATIONS?

While the barns look stunning as they are, you may wish to personalise them with decorations such as flowers, props, lights, photo booths, bunting, vintage furniture... we've had it all! The barn is all yours with which to do whatever you like and our wedding planners can help make your ideas come to life and suggest suppliers if you need any help.


CAN WE BRING OUR OWN WINE?

We import many wines direct from carefully selected vineyards, often in multiple pallets, which gives us a real edge on our competitors who buy through UK wholesalers.  In short, you can’t beat our wines on the value front therefore we always recommend using our wine.


CAN WE USE OUR OWN CATERERS? 

We cannot accept outside caterers, however our BBQ is the size of a lorry, the rotisserie is second to none and we source the finest ingredients for you and your guests so we are confident that you'll be as happy with our on-site catering as all of our previous guests have been.
 

DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING PLANNING SERVICE?

Our on-site team at Cripps Barn are on hand to help you organise anything to do with the ceremony, the barn itself and the catering. While they are not a wedding planners per se (we can recommend some if that's what you're after) they have a lot of knowledge around local suppliers and plenty of ideas. They will support you throughout the planning process and will be there on the day to make sure everything goes smoothly. Our guests are always impressed with the level of service they receive from our on-site teams.
 

Can we change details after we have agreed the quote and booked our date?

In addition to our on-site team (see above), we have an intuitive web app which you can log into and plan every last detail of your day. You can get instant quotes (changing details as often as you need to) and ask us any questions you might have at any time in the lead up to your wedding or event.


WHAT HAPPENS IF MY EVENT IS CANCELLED?

On rare occasions a guest will need to cancel their event. We recommend that you get wedding insurance in case of unforeseeable circumstances.
